That happens to me with ritalin. If I stay awake when the effect of my last dose is off my stomach yells XD. I'll start taking Concerta next thursday.

Re: Concerta...What is it?

Hi. I use to take concerta and it worked to a certain extint. I took it last year during school. I worked a little as far as concentration and reading. It however seemed to wear off. I haven't been on it in a a while because my medicaid had stopped. Now that I got approved again, I am going to see the Doc in Nov. Hopefully, he can put me on something stronger. In the meantime, I am receiving couseling.

Re: Concerta...What is it?

Drinking lots of water and eating high protein food helped the concerta end-of-day hunger fade a bit for me.

Re: Concerta...What is it?

hi i am new and here; does anyone have a better description of the effectiveness of concerta? Maybe a comparative description between the big 3 time-release meds (adderalXR, vyvanse, and concerta). I have been on XR close to 3 years and my doc is recommending a change so, is concerta right for me?

@ Andrew:
I don’t want to start any problems but "Dr. Weathers" is a Quack! I suffer from a proven neurological disorder, and thanks to people like Dr. Weathers, I also suffer a barrage of eye rolling followed by “isn’t that just an excuse?” I can’t concentrate on “video games, TV shows, a normal length movie, a game of ping pong…” any better then I can concentrate on “undesirable” tasks.
Yes, I understand there is a general lack of discipline in our country, and many parents actively seek excuses for their children. But I am not a parent making excuses; I am an adult who feels guilty for not being “motivated enough to concentrate.”

Please excuse the rant… I know it is not necessarily your viewpoint; Dr Weathers just gets under my skin!

Re: Concerta...What is it?

I disagree with the authors perspective. The reason video games are so compelling for so long, I would argue, is that the rewards from video games are so clearly laid out and achievable with time, rather than some secretive nonesense he eluded to.

Thanks, Anonone, for that post. You've just made me realize why I'm so prone to being distracted. It offers instant results. I might use this revelation in my studies somewhere...

Re: Concerta...What is it?

It appears that the page has changed some since that link was posted, and once on the page, there is another link that my browser can't open. Maybe someone knows another way to reach it? It seems you all go to read some information I can't get to.
