Weepiness when you stop Vyvanse?

Has anyone here ever stopped taking Vyvanse, and experienced uncontrollable sadness...?



Like I said in another post, I've only been taking Vyvanse for 3 days, but today I decided not to since yesterday it made me sedated. So I thought today would be fine, and I would be my usual giddy (yet flaky, scattered, and unproductive) self.

...but I was wrong. I've been sad and weepy all day today... like to the point that I really can't control my crying. I've been feeling extremely sensitive and unstable, like I'm going to burst into tears any second. (and I have- several times. ) My eyes keep welling up with tears, and it's getting embarrassing...because my boyfriend keeps asking me what's wrong, and I don't know how to explain it. I just feel like crying.

There's no reason for me to be sad right now...and I don't have depression...so I was wondering if maybe this had something to do with the dopamine shift (or whatever amphetamines do to you).



Has anyone else had this happen? Or am I just weird?


It might not have anything to do with Vyvanse... but I'm usually very aware of my body chemistry and my emotions, so this is unusual for me... and that's the only way that I can explain it.

If I so much as miss ONE daily Vyvanse, I turn into a SLEEPY MONSTER. I had got "tired" when not taking Adderall XR (30mg) after 48 hours... I'd get kinda groggy, but I could stay awake.

But... Vyvanse... I want to go find a bed and just fall into it and I'm gone... and dreaming like a movie theatre. Just cranking them out right and left... even though I had PLENTY of sleep the night before.

When I started taking Vyvanse I could burst into tears for NO reason whatsoever...and I couldn't control it once I started...it became an all day thing. After a while it went away. I would say it took a good 2-3 weeks then I was better on it, but that's when the arrogant, know it all, I'm the #1...so forth...so on...and then I got Depakote. I've recently switched to 60mg of Adderall throughout the day...eh...blah...meh; I don't really have any emotion on it.

^haha... that's kind of how I feel today. My head feels "foggy," my eyes feel blurry, and I have no energy. I just want to go back to bed, even though I just slept for almost 9 hours. (I haven't taken Vyvanse yet today, and I'm not sure if I should.)

^Do you like Adderall better?? Are you on IR or XR?

I think I want to switch... Vyvanse is messing me up.

I liked Adderall XR better... because even when I stopped taking it, I didn't have any crazy withdrawal symptoms. I just felt kind of tired, but no crazy crying episodes or mood swings.




I don't know what to do...

*shrugs* I think I've figured out that it's IR, but he said he was giving me XR...I've come to this conclusion because it's generic...yay pharmacy screws up again. I hope things get better for you
