Need help...Vyvanse to Dex!

I was taking vyvanse 100 mg in the morning, and it made me the top salesperson where I work. I was "forced" into trying Adderall XR, and I absolutely HATE it! I take ******* 40 mg XR in the AM, and 1st off, I barely feel the positive effects, secondly, its making me have panick attacks.
Anyways, I hate the Adderall, so will be trying dex, as I have no insurance.

What would be the equivalent dose of 100 mg of vyvanse to regular old IR dextroamphatamine?

Vyvanse for one is not an instant release medication. It is a XR med.
Every 25 mg of Vyvanse = 10mg dexedrine
So 100 mg of Vyvanse (Asssume 1 70mg and 1 30mg) = 40 mg Dexedrine.

The max dose is 70mg surprising your doctor prescribes such a high dose.
What are you diagnosed with, narcolepsy?

I suspect a lot of the dosage recommendations are based on pediatric studies, especially since I haven't seen many adult based ADHD studies.

I'm on 120mg/day and should be at 140mg or 150mg, but they don't make a dose higher than 60mg in Canada. Since my insurance won't cover it, and 2 pills a day is already breaking the bank, my doctor is moving me to Concerta later this week.

He mentioned that Vyvanse often needs up to 5 titration level until you find the right dose. At 120mg I'm at the stage where I'm no longer distracted by the cascading ferris wheel of ideas, but my focus tends to take the form of almost obsessively watching the full run of TV series seasons from DVD or iTunes. I've gone through MacMillian and Wife, BSG, Mad Men, Space 1999, 30 Rock, and now The West Wing.

Every. Fracking. Episode.

Some folks are on 200mg and beyond.

I can't say I'm comforted by the thought of what all these stimulants might do to me long term, but with my life already an ADD disaster area of epic proportions, I don't really have that much to lose.

What we know is that with adults, we simply don't know. As someone mentioned, pediatric doses aren't the same as adult dosing and every person is different.

I have found that IR works better for me. I have better control of the medication throughout my day. Other people, other experience.

I don't know about equivalent dosages, but Dex IR is better IMO than Vyvanse OR Adderall XR.

A max daily dosage of Dex IR is 40mg. That isn't common though. Some individuals need more than 40mg. I have taken 100mg of Vyvanse and thought it was a wonder med for my ADD......I was wrong......The 15mg of Dex IR that I take once daily is better than 100mg of Vyvanse from my experience.

There are Dexedrine Spansules.....not the same as Vyvanse.....
