Question Does this sound like ADD to you?

I'm a woman and I wonder sometimes if I have ADD. Here are my symptoms:

  • extreme indecisiveness, always changing my mind, wondering if I made the right decision (I have so much trouble with what direction I want to go career wise. I am not interested in things that are easy to get a career in.)
  • feeling restless unless I have something to read or when watching a good movie/tv show
  • constantly flipping channels and pressing the volume up or down a few hairs every couple of seconds (only when I'm alone)
  • procrastination
  • spacing out
  • stuff I want to say comes out wrong
  • mixing up words when I am reading
  • obsessing and hyperfocusing on certain interests
  • pacing around when I'm the first one to show up at a restaurant and I'm waiting for others OR when I am upset
  • absentmindedness
  • needing to acquire things, then returning most of it to the store (unused) once I have possession of it
  • buying things impulsively

Re: Does this sound like ADD to you?

A good bit of it does, have you seen a p-doc?? I'm a strong believer in testing being very important.

I had anti-depressants thrown at me for 20 years, when it was ADD mostly, and my p-doc believes my depression is a result of the ADD.

Re: Does this sound like ADD to you?

I forgot to add that my mind often races with scattered thoughts that I can't seem to drown out.
