I LOVE this mouse!!! (A "whatever" thread.)

We have a wireless mouse and keyboard. I liked them....especially when I don't trust the kids and have to take the mouse to the bathroom with me. A few months back, I did something with the computer. I don't even remember what. Installed something or whatever...but the mouse stopped working. So out of desperation, I happened (it's amazing, I know) to know where a corded mouse was so I brought that upstairs and plugged it in. That was kinda annoying because it had a ball you roll in the middle of the mouse to move it. The mouse stays in one spot and you roll the ball. Well lately, that's been acting up. Getting kinda jerky to move. I kept MEANING to reinstall the cordless. I did but it still wouldn't work. Changed the batteries. What do you know, it works! I guess I didn't think it would need to be changed yet. I didin't realize how much I missed it until I did that. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!

Earlier today I thought the keyboard batteries might need to be changed. I glanced at the "receiver" (whatever you call that thing. The remote part that's connected to the computer and sends out the signals to the keyboard and mouse). That was still there on the desk (it falls off the back too easily). Couple minutes later, I realized that quick glance was to the cordless mouse (the one that wasn't working). It's kinda the same shape as the receiver and was where the receiver shoulda been. So of course after I crawled under the desk and retrieved the thing and put it back on the desk....the keyboard works again.

So....what's your "Whatever" story?

I am a little fuzzy on what was said after that because i was laughing too hard from that line.

A whatever story? I found out what i need to do to fix the non-lighting tailight in my car! Hint: not replace the bulb, if that's what anybody's thinking.

That's one of the best reasons to have a cordless mouse! My kids are getting too smart with this computer (ages 2 and 4) and they know where the Sesame Street game is and how to use the mouse! So if the mouse isn't there....

I hope your tailight isn't a huge project!

I have a 4 y.o. that is pretty savvy, so i know what you mean. I sat down at the computer a few days ago and he said "Firefox!" i laughed and said "What?!" "Firefox, that's where my drum game is." Then he pointed out the shortcut in a sea of icons. ....And that's why we use glubble. One of his first words was "gadget", so we were expecting this.

Nope, pretty easy. Cut a wire, splice a wire, attach the new wire to metal bracket. Repeat on passenger side before it breaks also. Fun project, i like doing things like that... Speaking of which, i better get to it before i run out of day like i did yesterday!

Re: I LOVE this mouse!!! (A "whatever" thread.)

Woo-hoo! It's only 11:30 and I already started some laundry and updated the checkbook. I throw receipts in my purse instead of writing them down right away - hubby hates that. Can't help it. Then on Fridays I write them down in the register, print out a page of my online bank statement and write down the stuff I didn't have a receipt for (online transactions, or lost receipts, etc). Then I reconcile for the week. Even if I write down everything in the register, if I do a monthly reconcile with the paper statements the bank sends out, I get too overwhelmed and always screw up. So I'm getting better by just doing it weekly.

I lost my (oh! Just found it! LOL) to-do list for this weekend. I usually don't do lists but I kinda did one when I was at work. I fixed the mouse, finished a romance novel that I was reading at work (I was almost finished so I brought it home) and finished reading Tommyland (AND put it away in my library....where it goes with the other biographies....bonus!). Ordered a book off Amazon (like I really need more! Pg. 180 of TommyLand - "T. Lee's twelve-pack". A list of soul searching books he liked. And the power of suggestion turns me on to a lot of stuff so I bought one he listed). Let's start over. LOL. I don't want to retype though.

1) Get started on 43 Things. - started my list at work. 43Things.com I'm Uneek1 (easy to remember) Need to fine tune and start working on them.

2) Garage sale - online garage sale. I think I'll just gather everything up, tell Salvation Army to get their butt down here and take them! And it's tax deductible. If I had a garage sale, I'd spend the money too easily. This way we'll get some next year. Wham bam, thank you Uncle Sam! Stuff is gone! Still need to do that.

3) Buy Motley Crue shirts for the kids. Can't find any their size that's cheap enough. That's ok.

4) Bring down the kids' drawers from upstairs. Kinda long story but all their clothes are down here. We have some plastic drawers down here but they're kinda full and unorganized. Have a card table half with clothes and some of Mom's stuff too. Time to organize it and clean it! Maybe when Mom gets home, I'll do it.

5) Thomas train - Oh! Ride Thomas in Fremont, NE. That's on Sunday.

6) "Tommy's book club" - already mentioned

7) Finish romance novel and Tommyland - already mentioned

8) Write a few paragraphs in the romance novel I'm writing. - It's easy if don't have brain block...which I think I still do.

9) Fix mom's printer - as in put in her new one and take out her old

10) Fix cordless mouse - mentioned earlier

11) Go to a used bookstore - I was in the mood the other day. Now, maybe not. Spent too much money anyway. LOL

12) Mop kitchen floor - (groan) Eventually it'll get done

Well, etc. I've rambled on enough. LOL. It's actually amazing I got a few of those accomplished already. Amazing that I done the checkbook BEFORE my husband nagged at me several times.

That list wiped me out just by reading it. Also, Crue shirts for the kids? Rock!

And the taillight fix... i finished, but i burned myself pretty good. Grabbed the business end of the soldering iron because i wasn't paying attention Got three fingers and a thumb, no worries- still typing and mousing.

Good luck with that list, have a good weekend!

Yay Curseandblessi!!!!!!! Did you find money you forgot about? The other day I cleaned mine out and found a prescription thing that I signed. I supposed to have signed it and give it back to the pharmacist for their records. Signed it at the counter...and stuck it in my purse. The next day Mom told me the pharmecy called. Called them back and the lady didn't know why they called. They probably wanted their slip thing back.

mykill, how's your fingers? OUCH!!!

Here's a bandage for ya.

I got through ALL my e-mail!!!! Forwarded some (to bug people who hate getting junk mail. LOL. Nah, forwarded stuff I like) and deleted a lot. The only things on there now is Amazon.com confirmations. The stuff I should get today. Looks a lot better!!! Wait, that wasn't on my to-do list! LOL.

Front driver's side speaker quit working in my minivan - and going on vacation (6 hour drive) leaving Tuesday. Sucks.

mykill - think you hop over here to Missouri and fix that for me?

Does anyone know - is it illegal to drive with earbuds on?

MUST......HAVE......MUSIC!!!

You are on your own there, can't get a soldering iron on a plane anymore.

I've done all sorts of nutty things over the years of varying degrees of safety and ingenuity to keep music in my cars when facing monetary or time hurdles. I would be a total head case if i had a trip coming up and a busted speaker. I would either be out there at 2:00am with the door taken apart or i would be renting a car!

I am a total hypocrite when it comes to earbuds and driving. I think it is not safe to wear them, but i will drive with the car system way louder than anything my Zen can put out.

Good luck with the trip.
