Wellbutrin and Adderall

This question may already be on here somewhere, but I didn't find it. Has anyone taken Wellbutrin and Adderall together? Do they work well together? Or is there another stimulant that works better with the Wellbutrin? I'm currently taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg 2x's/day. I'm waiting to go back to my doc and we're going to try a stimulant since Strattera didn't work for me. I feel like the Wellbutrin is working great for my depression (and I've tried other antidepressants like prozac, zoloft, effexor that made me feel like a zombie). But I don't know what stimulant would work best with it. Any suggestions/advice is greatly appreiciated!!

check through old forums. there are several threads on this, and you understand, I presume, that others' experience says nothing, absolutely nothing about how this combo will or will not affect you.

Tone is right, a search will help on this. There are many people who have taken this combo. Some love it, some hate it. Have you done a search? If you have specific questions, maybe we can answer for you.

I'm thinking about this combo myself, although I am finding that I might do better with an SSRI. My issues seem to be specifically during PMS time, so it might make sense for me.

Have you ever tried Adderall ever? I feel SO good since being on it, but some people don't react well to it. Have you had any experience with stimulants at all?

I did search but not a lot. And yes I understand that other peoples experiences can and/or will be different thatn mine, I was just wondering others opinions!

No I've never tried Adderall, but I have tried Ritalin (yrs ago). I'm not sure if Adderall will ever work for me, but I feel like even though I'm treating my depression it's not helping my ADHD sysmptoms at all. That's why I was asking for other peoples input or suggestions. I go back to my doc tomorrow, so we'll see what he says.

I found that Adderall helped my anxiety and depressive stuff a lot. Now, I was never diagnosed with depression (although the idea of it was bounced around, since I had some symptoms of mild depression), and I know it does not work the same for everyone (some folks have a lot MORE anxiety on Adderall.) It seems, though, that with the ADD symptoms lessened, I was less worried and more able to work on issues that needed to be worked on. So, it could be helpful for you. If your doc is open to it, discuss it and see what you think. Good luck!

Thanks so much for the info. I did go to the doc yesterday and he started me on Methylin 20mg in the morning and 20mg at noon. I'm starting today so we'll see. I'm still on the Wellbutrin also. It's working really well for my depression. I asked him about Adderall and he said that he preferred Ritalin because it's been around longer and he just likes it better. But if it doesn't work then we can try the Adderall. Thanks and hope you have a great day!!
