atomoxetine HCI... stimulant or depressant?
What is it.. a stimulant or a depressant? And can it be used to treat ADD?

Atomoxetine HCl is better known as strattera, and it is not a stimulant--in fact it is the only non-stimulant licensed for treating AD/HD. It is my understanding that it failed clinical trials as an antidepressant, but its effects on those people in the study who had AD/HD was noted, and it was tried for that.

Quite right Stranger,
Specifically Strattera is a selective noradrenaline reuptake inhibitor. It works in some people and not in others. If it works for you, you may or may not need to take a stimulant as well - it depends on the person. Regards, Greg
