ADD/ADHD Testing?

Hi Everyone,
Great website! Can really relate to a lot!
Question...
I've dealt with depression for about 15 years and always taken meds for it (presently Prozac 40mg). But my therapist and I have been looking into ADD/ADHD and I found out, surprisingly, that I can relate to a lot. I can also relate to bi-polar. And because of all this relating I am very confused now. Anyway, has anyone ever been tested for ADD/ADHD via written/verbal test? My therapist thinks it's a good idea so I know what I'm dealing with, and because I have young children and wonder if it's genetic.
I'm also on Vyvanse 70 mg. And I'm not sure what or how I should be feeling. I feel the physical stuff but not really clarity or focus. Should I give the meds more time?

OK sorry, that was 2 questions. I can go on and on but I won't.
I'm looking fwd to some insight and this seems like the right place to find it.
thanks!

Re: ADD/ADHD Testing?

Welcome to the forums. I can't say too much about testing, but I too started with depression, when I was about 15. Oddly I had parents who refuse to have me on meds, as of a few months ago I was diagnosed with dysthymia, and now ADHD.
