Unhappy Am I to feel slower than normal when starting Concerta?

I started Concerta 36 mg 8 days ago and I feel slower than normal. I feel that I am in slow gear and I feel my day is slower.
Is this an indicator that my medication is working? I also feel that I don't want to chit chat as much like a motor and I want quiet. Am I suppose to feel tired and totally relaxed? Someone told me I am becoming mellow. I feel less impulsive to do things than I am usually do.

Well, if you are normally hyper, I would say it's working. HEH

I am mostly inattentive/nonhyper ADD...but since I have been on concerta for a year and a half now....my brain activity is clearer...and slowed down...which is good...no more racing thoughts. But, where I used to be plum lazy and never got anything done...now my body wants to pick up and get things accomplished....it's very nice!!!

Dunno if this helps, but I tried. heh

Thanks, Jaimie
I wasn't quite sure how to see my first results of this drug. I can agree I have no more racing thoughts and I can get things more than being lazy. I really appreciate your input

From what I know about this, which is not all that much, feeling calm is a good sign. Just watch that it does not cross from calm to zombie. If someone mentions that you are calm maybe get clarification on if they mean good calm or barely alive calm LOL.

I had the time slow down thing today. The first two hours of my day felt like five! I kept looking at the clock and could not believe it was still so early. I even got some stuff accomplished. I am taking regular Ritalin and this is day 6 for me.

slow is *good* - it means the concerta's working!

I'm tired too. So tired now that I must nap after work everyday. I'm taking 20mg. Celexa, 300mg. Wellbutrin XR, and 72mg. Concerta. My Dr. is switching me to Adderall to see if a different stimulant will help. I hope so. This is all so new to me and after hearing about the positive changes that occur once a diagnosis is made and treatment begins, has me wondering if my expectations are too high.
