Do you tap things?

I dont think its related to ADHD but erm ive realised i tap things alot. like if im holding an object like a phone i'll just start tapping my finger on the back of it or something. my mate was giving my **** for it (in jokes not being serious) so i'm wondering if anyone else does this? I also like to knock on things to see how dense it is like a pole or something. its weird isnt it?]

oh yeah ive got glass stuck in my foot, its been there for 2 days now can't get it out

Re: Do you tap things?

I'm like a wiggly-tappin'-chewin-squirmy-bouncy storm!

My tapping out beats habit got much worse after I started making music as a teen, and then even worse when I played a video gamed called Amplitude addictively for over a year (imagine guitar hero with no guitar and just your fingers).

But actually, it sounds like you're talking about something else when you say you check the density of things? That's a new on me.

Re: Do you tap things?

I'm less likely to tap as I am to rock. Or play with a stress ball or bean bag. But there has to be something. I do a lot of hand crafts. It's the only way I can watch television.

Re: Do you tap things?

it's not my fingers or hands that tap but my stoopid feet. and they're at it now. *will you *****ing stop tapping, please! just for one minute. that's all i ask* medication does slow them down. but when that runs out, they run off. and it starts all again.

*looks down and shakes head* stoopid feet.

Re: Do you tap things?

I'm the opposite, when people are tapping, or flicking, or making the horrid repetitive noises like that, I actually go crazy. I have asked many many people to stop tapping, flicking, etc because not only is it so frustrating to listen to, not only is it blocking out the rest of the conversation, it's blooming rude if someone is trying to talk, or give a lecture while someone is distracting the rest of the class/staff with the never ending drone of repetitive noise..

I'd have to ask you to stop it if you were noisy..
Find a quite way to move,

like bounce a leg, but keep your feet on the floor

tap your fingers in the "air"

rub your fingers over an arm or a leg and keep it quiet.

There is no need to annoy everyone else within 20 feet

Re: Do you tap things?

Count me in.
I usually realise I am irritating everyone around me quite quickly though. Or is it those eyes looking at me accompanied by a brooding silence?

when I went for a psych test for my job, she asked me
"what really annoys you"
I said
PEOPLE WHO CLICK PENS AND/OR TAP

I then had to explain why...

Re: Do you tap things?

Yes, I do all sort of fidgeting, including bouncing my leg, biting my nails (bad boy), as well as tapping.
