vyvanse to concerta

Ok so i am 21 year old male. I started taking 30 mg vyvanse and wow did it help, i was able to finish many tasks and focus to one thing at a time and get alot out of it. I felt upbeat and focused. it seemed to help with anxiety as well. It worked great, but i stopped because my symtoms of hurting to pee worsened the longer i and more days i took it.

However i started to have issues were i had to pee all the time, and it started to get worse were it hurt to pee, it actual hurt. Ok so i then went to see my doctor and said i had a prostate infection he was guessing. Well i started taking keflex 3 times daily, the symtoms seemed to get worse and it hurt when i pied, my kidneys (back) and liver stomach started to hurt. I stopped taking vyvanse and the symtoms seemed to gradually decrease, where i didnt have to pee all the time and it did not hurt to pee.

So i then took focalin xr and that just didnt seem to do it for me, i had the same symptoms only they seemed to worsen. I dont know if that was because i took it right after i stopped the vyvanse like next day. Well i moved on from the focalin, just didnt work as well for me anyway.

So i am taking keflex 4 times daily, i took 30mg vyvanse today first time about a week and yes it worked amazingly, however i did experience that urge to pee and bloated feeling again. Then it hurt to pee again.. errrr... i drank alot of water and made sure i ate food today when taking the vyvanse.

Ok so what the heck is going on here, the vyvanse really helps me, i took it today and noticed the difference again, but i then got that painful urination again and frequent peeing and bloated feeling.

SO whats going on, is this the vyvanse doing this to my body, or is it reacting to the keflex, or is this just a freak thing and i got a prostate infection and has nothing to do with the vyvanse. Well then why does it hurt to pee and get worse when i take the vyvanse. Would that pass if i continued to take the vyvanse. i saw a urologist and he thought i could have something blocking my urion track but it all went away when i stopped my medication of vyvanse and also stopped the focalin stopped it all and started to get better.

Well i am in toss up and dont know what to do. I am taking concerta 36mg tomorrow for the first time and see how that goes. But i am never really sick and i have been nothing but ill while a week after starting vyvanse then transferring to focalin xr with the urination and stomach problems.

this is all taking place in a 1 month time spand. I know seems like alot, i am just confused and need help from you gguys thanks.

Re: vyvanse to concerta

Hi, my 24-year old son had exactly the same experience. It helped him greatly but had increasingly painful urination over a period of time. He was treated repeatedly for a prostate infection, which did not help. He stopped taking the Vyvanse for a few days at a time, several times. As soon as he would restart it, the problem returned. Finally, he got off of it for good and never had another problem. Good luck to you.

Re: vyvanse to concerta

How is the switch from Vyvanse to Concerta going? My 10-year old daughter just got switched from Vyvanse 30mg to Concerta 18mg SA. Her Vyvanse side effects since December included hot ears, red nose, lack of appetite, inability to sleep, and nausea. What typical symptoms can we expect with Concerta? We now have all these Vyvanse 20mg and 30mg tablets left.
