Hey guys,

I have ADHD and was wondering if you know if taking Dexedrine (20mg twice a day) mixed with MultiVitamins and Calcium will decrease the effects of the Dexedrine.

I started taking the Vitamins (MultiVitamin and Caclium) just yesterday, and continued this morning.

Last night, I was "ADDing out" more than I have since I started taking the medication. On top of that, in two classes today, I have been getting so distracted, can't sit still, and am completely frustrated.

So, do you know if this isn't good for me, and reduces the effects of the Dexedrine?

I am going to stop taking them until I talk to my doctor next week.

I know that with some ADHD medications, you want to avoid taking certain vitamins especially vitamin c within a couple hours of taking your ADHD medication because it reduces the effects of the medication to dissolve and enter your blood system. I would trying taking them within a couple hours of each other first.

Agreed.. always best to space them apart by several hours.

I take the morning Adderall first thing- generally around 6a.m. At around 9am, I take my vitamins (except B Complex) and a protein shake. Around 2p, I take the second Adderall. Before bed, anything I missed- additional Fish Oil and B Complex (has C in it). So far, this seems to be the best.

I have heard others say that they take all their vitamins at night. That would also work.

Thanks for that. I have heard taking them at night would be good too, as they don't directly interfere with the medication.

What I have heard/read

Vitamin C and anything acidic will cause the you to eliminate the medication faster from your system

Whereas

Alkylasers( pew pew ) such as Calcium / sodium bicarbonate and so on increase the length or retention.

I take 30mg of XR in the morning and 30MG at noon

I Either take mine at night or just eat better balanced meals. Stay away from pop that won't help you either.
