Angry "Speaking of the Monthly Visitor....." - ADD and Menstruation

I got my period when I was 12. Since I was 12 I have been like CLOCKWORK (28 days....not 27, not 29...but 28). If I have lived with other women (even if they are on the pill) their cycles would go in sync with mine. Here's the thing...ever since starting my medication (March 18) I am late...8 days late. I got my last period on March 18. I am taking Metadate ER...50mg a day (30 in the morning and 20 in the afternoon). This is a high of a dosage that I need to be on (my doctor told me to do 60mg....that lasted one day...i felt like i had drank a gallon of coffee and washed it down with a pound pure sugar..)

Has anyone else had this reaction with their cycles? I didn't even think to ask my dr. if the meds were gonna screw up the cycle.

Oh in case your wonderin, I am not pregnant...still a big ol' virgin, so if I am pregnant...be prepared..for the Messiah hath cometh for it will be an immaculate conception.

krisp will become famous soon enough
I've never heard of Metadate causing a disruption in the cycle, but everyone's biochemistry is different! And there are still not many clinical trials conducted on women of childbearing age, so the data is probably incomplete.

If things don't straighten out soon, I'd check with the doctor. It could be the med, or there might be something else going on.

it could have been stress over the med too.

Not only that, I know (I mean I KNOW) that ADHD can certainly aggravate a lovely bout of PMS, so I'm sure it affects the hormones in ways the docs don't know about yet -- maybe you should let your doc know so s/he can remember to ask/warn other female patients.
