I almost forgot...Does anyone get annoyed with SLURRED SPEECH?

Hi again ADD Forum Folks!

One question I keep forgetting to ask (Must be the ADD! ) is...Are there people that wouldn't mind discussing "Slurred speech" (if you have in fact experienced this side effect) while on Strattera, concerta, or both?

Thanks a bunch!

My son slurred his speech a lot after starting the med but it's gotten better we only really notice it when he's really upset or excited about something.

I was on Wellbutrin before then....so I just stayed with it....I was looking for a better focus....(was in school at the time)....so doctor tried me on sample of Strattera....for 30 days....Oh MY God the side effects......So now I'm just on Wellbutrin and Klonopin.....

Perhaps your dosage needs adjusting??? That might help the slurred speech....

I am on my 6th day taking Straterra and damn I feel like I am on valiums or xanax. If this is what being normal feels like, then I think I would rather be out of focus. I am in my office right now and the only thing I feel like doing is putting my head down and going to sleep. Has anyone else gotten these feelings before and do they ever go away as you stay on it? I am only on 40mg a day and I take it in the am everyday.

I'd advice you to clue your doc in about the chest pain you had posted about in another thread. If, he suggest's to give it a little more time I would. Most side effects end within the first two weeks. Most that is, if it continues to be a problem discuss other options with your doc.

p.s. If you could be so kind as to remind me of what I just told you when I start on my meds I'd greatly appreciate it.

Unhappy rapid heart rate

I am taking Strattera and during my 6th day of taking it, I went to my friends house to help him move his jetski. Moving it wasn't a problem at all. The problem was afterwards because my heart wouldn't slow down after we moved it. I understand it getting up to a fast rate while moving the jetski, but staying at like 120bpm an hour after we were done. That had me concerned. I really can't even ask my primary care physician if it is normal because he is completely clueless about the drug. The only thing he knows is what it says in the little book he has which I can find most of that stuff out on the Strattera website. I was just curious if anyone else has had an episode like this. After that episode last night, I didn't even bother taking the stuff again today. I think I may lay off for a bit.

I just lowered my dosage to 10mg per day. I will let everyone know if it helps.
