First day of Concerta ER 18mg
So today was my first day taking the concerta. I have slight ADD, hard to pay attention in class, always being distracted by little things, ill listen and not remember what i just heard haha im a good student great grades just makes it harder
So I took the pill at 9:30am, first class was at 10, at school until 2:15 then work till 5. I honestly could not even tell that I was on anything, i still was careless in class, didnt really feel like paying attention, not sure if thats the lack of sleep I got (5-6 hours) last night due to a project I was working on. Either way all i felt was a little headache all day not much else...is this supposed to take time to work cause my doc said id feel the effects first time around... any advice or does my dosage probably need to go up to 36mg if it doesnt do anything in 2-3 weeks? |

Re: First day of Concerta ER 18mg
I'm male, and was 30 years old when I started my first Concerta 18mg in 2005. I stayed home on the first day of medication, as recommended by my doctor. About 20 minutes after taking that very first pill I felt like I had woken up after being asleep for 15 years. I split and neatly stacked a huge pile of firewood, cleaned the house spotless, washed the car, ran 3 miles, read for a bit, and then went to bed about 9pm, which was much earlier than normal. I got more done that first day than I normally would have in a month unmedicated.

Re: First day of Concerta ER 18mg
Hi, I'm also new and recently diagnosed ADD.
After one week taking Ritalin 4 times 5mg a day my doctor changed me to Concerta 27. First day I felt great! Very constant compared to the Ritalin. Since day 2 I have the same slight headache like you ebay, it isn't annoying but I feels like Ritalin not working anymore. My thoughts on the other hand are much clearer, more logical. No more staccato's of thoughts. Should my brain get used to the dose or must it be increased? I don't feel speedy or restless. BTW Great forum! Very usefull for this newbe! |

Re: First day of Concerta ER 18mg
If its not working now, it won't work in 2-3 weeks either. I'd suggest taking to your doc to up the dose. 18 mg is the starting so it could be likely that you need a little more.
