changes in hair growth patterns

hi, i was diagnosed with adhd in july. since then ive bounced around on different meds and have settled with adderall xr. anyways i have noticed that out of no where i now have a cowlick in the middle-right area of my head. i am 100% sure it wasn't there before because i waste a lot of time on my hair and would have noticed. i know i can't get rid of it but i would like to know if i should expect it to get worse.

i had short stints with ritalin and dexedrine as well. i googled around and found that hair loss may possibly be a side effect of stimulant use but nothing on changes in the way the hair grows. after reading up on cowlicks and hairstreams i found that stress and medication can cause changes in the way in which your hair grows

has anyone experienced this or read about this anywhere?

I've never noticed any hair loss on medications, but have heard that it is possible. As far as hair growth, I did note that when I took Vyvanse for about a month, my hair (and fingernails) grew rapidly, to the point where I could barely keep up. I found it really bizarre.

thanks for your reply. google did come up with some links to hair loss which is kinda a crappy side effect but my problem is that my hair trends seem to have changed... guess its not common or maybe not the addy

My hair has not been as thick since started Adderall and Dexedrine years ago. Guy here - just hope this helps.
