Re: Alcohol and adderall

Depends. For me, I've never had a problem other than it makes me a bit more dizzy. Others have had problems with paranoia and things like that. If you are going to be out at a bar etc, make sure its effectiveness has worn off (for me it is effective for 4hrs (the IR)) before you start drinking. Especially, since you don't know how it will affect you. As for the following day, it won't be a big deal unless you will be drinking then too.

Re: Alcohol and adderall

I have been taking 20mg XR in the morning. By dinner time it is worn off. I haven't noticed any negative affects when having my evening beer. I was a little dizzy last night, but I don't think I drank enough water yesterday.

Have a glass of water between each drink. It will help with everything in general. Also, I would suggest telling someone you trust who will be with you to keep an eye on you just in case. Never hurts to have a party buddy. Have fun.

Re: Alcohol and adderall

If you have a few drinks and notice you're not that drunk, then stop until the medication has completely worn off. Adderall is a stimulant and it can mask the depressant effects of the alcohol, but when it wears off the alcohol will hit hard. I've experienced this once or twice and it's very hard to notice. If you're drinking like 10 - 12 hours after you take your dose though it should be fine. And since you're new to Adderall you've probably noticed it dehydrates you a bit, so make sure to drink enough water.
