I use to take corepharma adderall 20mg and it made me feel like crap!! Since I've been doing my research about the difference in generic, I have since located an independent pharmacy where they carried generic adderall made by sandoz. I love this medication and it doesn't make me shaky and agitated. I'm glad I found this fourm and located an independent pharmacy that carried Sandoz Adderall IR. Thanks everyone!

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
Do you mind being more specific to the difference it makes? I mean, I found a local pharmacy that carries it and plan on ordering it from there when my current prescription runs out.
What exactly happens that's different? Like, do you focus more? What about the euphoria? Thanks. |

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
Well, I used the generic made by corepharma that I got from Walgreens. They are round and pink and I was taking about 20 mg a day. I noticed that the first time that I took it, it made me feel like I drank about 10 cups of coffee. I was shaky and my head was spinning and I couldn't focus. I then did some research about the generic adderall and I found that it wasn't unusual for some people (everyone reacts differently) to feel shaky and agitiated. I took the medication for about two weeks and I felt like I needed to increase my dose and that the medication wore off too fast. I made an appointment to talk to my doctor about it and I asked her about the four different adderall medications on the market. One was the original adderall (made by shire), the generic made by Barr, the generic made by Corepharma, and the generic made by Sandoz. I knew that Barr bought out shire and was making bothe the name brand and generic and that they changed the formula so I didn't want to go that route and try that Adderall.
I then told her that Corepharma generic was making me shaky, unfocused and that it didn't last long. I only took ten mg at first and slowly increased my dosage until I was at 20mg. I didn't like the way that the generic Corepharma was making me feel so I suggested to her that I wanted to try the Sandoz generic. I got another script and I called several different pharmacies around town and found only one pharmacy that carried the Sandoz generic. It was a small mom and pop pharmacy and I got it filled. I only took 10mg at first and then slowly increased my dosage until I was taking 20 mg. I noticed that I wasn't shaky and that I was more focused and I got things done. I didn't have that euphoria that I first felt when I used the Corepharma but I didn't want that euphoria. I also didn't have a crash later in the day either and I also didn't have a splitting headache the next day. I like the generic made by Sandoz but it's pretty hard to find. Well, keep me updated when you get your medication! Good luck! |

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
Hm, I wonder how much of that is placebo effect. This doctor says that "By law, generic and brand name medications must contain the exact same active ingredients"
I take it that the proportions should be the same too, no? http://healthcalls.com/QuestionsAnsw...Dextrostat%29_ |

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
The active ingredients are the same but it is the binders and fillers that people are reacting to. The difference could be anywhere from 80% from the orginal formula but "by law" the active ingredients are the same. It also depends on the release time of the medication too because the faster the release time, the more jittery and nervous (Corepharma pink adderall) you would feel. Take into account that people react differently to different medications and from my personal experience with Corepharma, it made me unfocused and jittery. I didn't want to "feel" the medication, I just wanted to focus more without me feeling like I drank 10 cups of coffee.
Sandoz adderall is about 95% close to the orginal adderall made by Shire (before the formula change) so I prefer it because it didn't give me highs and lows. I didn't want the crash that came with taking the Corepharma and the nervousness that was associated with it. I just wanted to be normal and more focused on the task at hand rather than being all over the place. |

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
You know, I did some research after you first mentioned this to me in my topic (I think yesterday?) and when I was taking the adderall a couple years ago, I was using the Sandoz-- worked like a charm. Granted, yes, there were a few side effects but nothing bothersome. Now I'm taking the Roberts (apparently now owned by Shire) and I've had some complications with circulation and nerves far beyond any "average" reaction. At the same time, I recognize peo
ple react differently, however I'm thinking I may as well give the Sandoz another try. Having a hard time finding it, but our city is packed with pharmacies and I've got plenty to try still. Thanks for the helpful contribution!

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
Corepharma kind of had the same speed up & crash result to me too.
I have taken all 3 main generics in the past 3 months... Core in Sept. Barr in Oct. and Sandoz in Nov. I actually found this forum again cus I got switched to Barr unknowingly because my Walgreens switched suppliers and it jsut didn't feel the same so I tried looking it up. Anyways... I'm gonna start a thread in the next day or two comparing all 3 brands with my side effects, pro's and con's etc... so other mind find the thread and find it useful. |

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
Hey Jimtim, I hope everything works out for you! Sandoz is pretty hard to find but just try the small independent pharmacies because they are more likely to work with you and they are much nicer than the big chain pharmacies!

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
I've been using Teva generic adderall and dex, and my heart thumps pretty hard on a even a small dosage of 5-10mg a day..even when the dose wears off it beats a little off.
I met with my doc and said every thing is fine. I'm pretty sensitive to meds. Does your heart beat less harder when on Sandoz generic adderall compared to Teva?

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
StoicNate,
I know that everyone reacts differently to medications but I felt like I was going to have a heart attack when I was on the Corepharma generic. I only took 20mg but I thought that there were days when I was going to have an anxiety attack. I couldn't handle the effects of that medication so I resorted to looking up other avaliable alternatives. I have been on Sandoz for several days now but I didn't have that feeling of my heart jumping out of my chest. I also notice that I don't have a rapid pulse rate either. I know that there are clearly side effects to every medications but it just depends on how your body reacts to it. From my own personal experience, I know that this drug is working for me but I know that it doesn't apply to everyone. I hope that this helps! |

Re: Sandoz Generic is Great!
Also:
Teva/Barr/Shire=same company (Based out of Isreal) Corepharma/Ranbaxy=same company (Based out of India) Sandoz/Eon=same company (Based out of Germany) The europeans are pretty strict when it comes to drugs being introduce to Europeans. I think that the FDA should have it's own unit specifically designated to dealing with generic manufacurer but it seems like they tend to lack in that department. In my own opinion, the FDA fails us consumers when they just let any generic drug company making just anything because it is cheaper. It's crap that everyone has to suffer.... ![]() |
