how do I find the right dose?

Hello everyone I am new here and I was diagnosed with ADHD on nov 16 2009...and I am confused....how long does it take to get the dosage right? I was given Vyvanse on the 16th and for the first 3 days it worked great but after that it started wearing off at around 2pm (i take it at 6am) so I called the doctor and he upped it to 6omg from 30mg on the 20th I havent noticed any difference...I even tried taking 30mg at 6am and then again at noon since my days are so long but nothing it was like I never even upped it...so what do I do now Iam afraid to call back and say it didnt work...the meds work but only till like 2 so I dont want him to take me off them all together cause I ve never felt better while its working, so clear headed and focused but after 2 its like I hit a brick wall and then I get alot of irritablity and anxiety...what should I do call him back and tell him it didnt work or wait untill my appointment on the 7th or now say anything and suffer after 2pm...thanks for listening and and advice would be great!!!

Basically the right dose is whatever will ease your ADHD symptoms. Not eliminate them entirely, but to the point where you notice a difference from before.

You shouldn't be worried that your doctor would withold your medications. Just report your symptoms. A lot of people have to try different drugs and at different dosages before they find the one with the most benefit and least side effects.

I started on vyvance 30 and it didn't do anthing. Finally I got to a 70mg dose and wow I felt normal and every thing was clear and I was scared to death when that dose started to last about 3 hrs. I am 33 male 6 220 and self medicated all my life. It took a while to iron out my meds. I know how u feel! Ur eyes are opened and ur scared to lose it! Now I'm on adderall. Dexedrine. Cymbalta. Seroquel at night! The dexedrine is what vyvance is for the most part. Adderall alone drives me nuts and the dex smooths it out. The adderall gives me clarity and focas in my brain. Lol. The dexe give my emotions what the need to be patient and more socialble! More reasonaning skills. Anyway I hope u get what u need and don't be affraid to tell ur dr so u can be treated 100 percent. I was doing the same thing. Hope this helps
