Birth Control or SSRIs for PMS/PMDD
It's no secret that for women our ADHD symptoms tend to get worse during that time of the month. Has anyone found birth control to be helpful with controlling this? I know that SSRIs, especially Prozac can be helpful but I've been on Prozac before but it didn't really help me. My psychiatrist started me on Luvox (for depression and anxiety) about a week and a half ago and I LOVE it so far. However, I am wondering if it is at all effective for PMS/PMDD. It is an SSRI so I am hoping it will but most of the PMDD literature is about Prozac. Should I try to add birth control to my medication regimen. Or should I keep my fingers crossed and hope that the Luvox will be work? I'm worried because my next cycle will be right around exam time.
