Hey everyone! It's been a while since I've posted on here, but wanted to share my experience so far...
I know it hasn't been that long, but I'm already seeing a drastic improvement! My mood has been much more stable and the awful fatigue I suffer from had diminished, but returned after a few days. I was prescribed Effexor off-label for my FMS and CFS. I have very high hopes that it will help my CFS, but so far it has done nothing for my FMS. We'll have to see if a higher dose will do the trick. I go up to 75mg in a couple of days. One thing I noticed is that it took the edge off my Adderall, which is great, but also somewhat bad. I used the anxious/edgy feeling to judge my dosage and now that I don't feel it I found myself taking too much Adderall. My doc scripts me 20mg XR bid, but I rarely take that much. He lets me take whatever dose I want as long as it's not over the 40mg a day. The other day I took my first 20mg and then the other 20mg around noon because I didn't think it was doing anything. By about 3pm I realized I was high as a kite! I looked in the mirror and my pupils were HUGE! I was babbling incessantly and jumping from one thing to another in a flurry of chaos. My husband thought I had totally lost it! I'm also wondering if the Effexor is also helping my ADD, which in turn means a lower dose of Adderall. That would truly be great! I hate taking a stimulant, but without it I can't seem to get anything done. Sorry for the novel. I'll update everyone after my dosage increase

Re: thirteen days on Effexor XR 37.5 mg
in all likeliness that could be the effexor ramping you up like that. Effexor really stimulated me the first few days but I stopped short with the medication due to reading about withdraws... What a joke, I should have stuck it out. Anyways , effexor can kind of help adhd and focus actually . Good luck.

Re: thirteen days on Effexor XR 37.5 mg
Thanks hollywood...
I did a bit more research online and i'm thinking that my ramped up feeling and my dilated pupils were definitely from the effexor. I totally understand about the withdraws...that's one of my fears too, but desperate times call for desperate measures! At this point in my life I just need to get better and I'll have to deal with the hellish ride of getting off them when I get to that point.

Re: thirteen days on Effexor XR 37.5 mg
Hi,
I am still on 37.5 mg effexor generic and 40 mg vyvanse a day. I take half the effexor in am and the other half 12 hours later. So far, so good. It cuts the fog on weekends and mornings. It also prevents the crash at the end of the day. So far so good. Been doing this for about a month. It will never substitute for vyvanse. But it helps with vyv. Enjoy, Ken |
