Pexeva and Paxil....what's the difference?

Hubby just switched from Lexapro (was horribly angry and irritable) to Pexeva. I had never heard of this med before and all I'm finding out is that it's basically Paxil. There must be a difference between the two, but what??? And if not, why not just call it Paxil?

There is a slight difference. It seems to be a bit smoother, I didn't notice the same shocks

as one who is trying to get off Paxil..and going through that h e l l ...ask for something different (if it is indeed found to just be the same make up as Paxil) unless you plan on being on it for a long long long time...like forever...it has been likened to coming off heroin when you try to get off of it. I've Never come off heroin but this is the most horrid experience I have ever had. I wish you luck.

I know of one difference between paxil and pexeva. paxil is paroxetine hcl and pexeva is peroxetine mesylate.
