how long before you know whether Ritalin LA is helpful?

i was on Ritalin LA 30mg but found it impossible to tolerate - from the very first dose, i was sent into a panicky, agitated state - headaches, emotionally volatile, etc. i gave it 3 days but couldn't take it any longer.

now my doc's switched me to 20mg LA and it's a lot better; i took it for the first time today, and i feel calm, but euphoric and a little fuzzy. i'm really over euphoria - i know it has no therapeutic benefit (as far as thinking, concentrating, etc. goes) for me. i was wondering how long it usuallly takes to gauge whether Ritalin is going to be helpful outside of the euphoria it causes. i'm really impatient

is like a week long enough?

Took me over a year to get over euphoric states of Ritalin. I still get them for about 40-60 minutes at the beginning.

And now I find out ritalin does nothing I still can't concentrate, thinking about food, friends, girlfriend, conversations, internet, sms, cellular phone, messenger ... oh wait, what was that again? oh yeah .. euphoria. anyways, yeah. I think I got over it and thats how I also got back to ADHD.

when I had the euphoric state I atleast pretended to be concentrated and while feeling motivated to do stuff - I actually did them!

sorry to disappoint - but hi, if you're like me - atleast you'd benefit for a whole year! and it will also make you feel good in general
