2 weeks of lexapro results
after 2 weeks on just 5mg I couldn't tolerate it anymore..... My god I didn't know what I was doing half the time! I had tried cymbalta previously and it wasn't half as bad on cymbalta but it was somewhat sedating as well, but on lexapro I didn't know what I was doing or thinking. My personality just went away. Anyways at this point for an add on if I do consider one, it would have to be cymbalta , effexor or pristiq.

Re: 2 weeks of lexapro results
I tried it and I got so damn depressed, I would just go into my room and cry for what seemed like hours...my son recently tried taking it and it did the same thing to him...what is the sense of taking an anti-depressant if it makes you more depressed?????

Re: 2 weeks of lexapro results
I Posted this up top in the sticky thread - but here is my take on lexapro:
I have been on 10mg Lexapro for 3.5 weeks now. The first 2.5 - 3 weeks it was hell - I got sooo much more depressed and anxious - I was ready to say screw it and cut off the medication all together. However, my doc had warned me up front that the first few weeks might be rough - but to stick with it and not give up on it. It takes about 4 weeks before you start seeing the improvements - prior to that you can expect some not-so-great days. I am happy to say that I have now seen consistent improvement for the past week! My outlook on life is SO MUCH BRIGHTER!!! I feel happy. Things that once agitated me and made me angry don't anymore! I don't get as upset about things anymore - It's quite amazing! I feel SOOOO much better. I would advise anyone who is taking this med to not give up on it until you have taken it for 4 weeks - it takes patience and persistence - but it was completely worth it to me! I have been on paxil, effexor, welbutrin, lithium (misdiagnosis that time - doc thought I was bp), zoloft, you name it! This med - HANDS DOWN -is where I have seen unbelieveable imporvement in every area. Social, emotional, I jsut see life and people differently and feel better equipped to deal with most of life's twists and turns) ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() p.s. I take a high dose of concerta with Lex...that may play a factor in the feel-goodness of my brain chemistry too |
