Short acting Vyvanse?

What med is a short acting Vyvanse?

I like the smoothness of Vyvanse, but it seems to last too long and I tend to get "overfocused".

It would be great if I could get my Vyvanse to last about half the time.

Is Adderall the shorter version? Dexedrine?

Re: Short acting Vyvanse?

You won't get the smoothness from anything else.

I'm no chemist or pharmacist, but it seems to me Dexedrine should have similar effects since it's basically the same thing (Dextroamphetamine).

Vyvanse is just Dextroamphetamine bound to an amino acid, which causes it to be inactive until that amino acid is removed by your body -- I think that's done by a liver enzyme but can't remember for sure. The fact that it relies on an enzyme to remove the amino acid before your body can absorb it is what makes it smoother than Dexedrine or Adderall.

Hi,
Reduce the dosage. Dilute the vyv in water and drink half. Try that for a few days....

Re: Short acting Vyvanse?

Dexedrine IR would be the same thing in the shortest acting version. But usually, short acting and smooth are polar opposites so you may not be happy if you can find dex IR. Most pharmacies stock the 6-8 hr spansules with half the dose of each capsule IR and the other half delayed release. However, as with vyvanse, diet has a significant impact on metabolism profile.

Re: Short acting Vyvanse?

dexedrine spansules (brand by GSK) is your best bet

its half way between the IR and vyvanse and its smooth.

the IR version has no brand any more. Only one generic by barr/Teva which compares nothing to dexedrine (harsh and awful).

if you have good insurance try procentra (liquid form of the IR) and its smooth. http://www.procentraadhd.com/
