Stalled in Therapy

I was diagnosed with ADHD in the fall, and I'd had years and years of depression before that. In addition to medication, I've been in therapy for a few months now. The problem is that I feel like I've stopped making real progress. That applies to life in general, but especially in my therapy sessions. Has this happened to any of you before? Do any of you have tips or advice on how to overcome it? Thanks all!

Re: Stalled in Therapy

If I stalled in 'therapy' it would mean I'm paying someone not to do their job.

Not enough info to say much more than that.

Re: Stalled in Therapy

Ha! And I kind of agree. But I don't think I'm done yet, and I don't want to break in someone new. My therapist has been very helpful in the past, and I want to get back to that. Agh.

Thanks for the giggle.

Re: Stalled in Therapy

Diane, have you brought this to your therapist for further discussion? It could easily be that the therapist is seeing the same thing but not really sure of how to broach the subject. Perhaps what is wanted is for the two of you to revisit your therapeutic goals and possibly write new ones.

Never forget. "Normal" is just a setting on the washing machine.
Do you really want to be a setting on the washing machine?
If you do, wouldn't you rather be the spin cycle?
