Sex and Strattera. Stopped my med

Hoping someone has an answer for me. I took Strattera for two weeks. I have never felt better in my adult life. I felt at peace inside, I was able to sleep better, and my ability to concentrate improved. My problem, by day 2 I could hardly get it up. By the end of week 1 I could care less about sex. I honestly believe he got smaller on this med. Middle of week 2, I tried 25mg of Viagra, it helped somewhat but orgasm felt strange. I have been off it for a few days and my old jittery on the inside self is back. I have high blood pressure and am taking meds, and my b12 and testosterone blood levels are in the low 300's . Are there any other adult add meds I can take with my blood pressure issue that will not cause erectile problems? I am a 46 yr old. Thanks in advance for your help

I'm 46 years old too and I just got my Cialis today. Not covered by insurance so I only bought 2. Haven't tried it yet. I'm on Vyvanse which is causing me the same problem. Vyvanse wouldn't be good for your blood pressure. What about Concerta?

I'm a 59 y/o on Strattera for 7 months. I too had some sexual side effects early on in treatment but now I'd say that everything is working better than before.

I will also say that in the past 7 months I've lost about 12-13 pounds due to somewhat diminished appetite and therefore my BP which had initially increased from 126/80 to 138/88 has now come down quite a bit to 116/74 (on meds).

Everyone is a bit different and my experience with Strattera may not mirror yours at all. But that's what has happened for me. My fingers do continue to get cold for an hour or so twice a day and I do get dry mouth on occasion. But that's about it.

Meridian, how many weeks passed before you begin to notice side effects going away? Loved feeling "normal" with Strattera, but even with Viagra 25mg things only worked for a short time. Do most all people that have sexual side effects with this drug stick with it and the problems go away? Thanks again for the input. Also, how large a dose do most guys take per day?

For me, I'd say 10 days of "what?"

For most people (if I recall it's about 76%) the drug works as it should and they stick with it for 8-10 weeks minimally. Wish I could recall where I read that! ha!

People who bail on Strattera often cite the sexual side effects or issues with nausea (none for me) or BP or fatigue, but since I had not had success with other meds (and my doc didn't want to put me on stims at the time) and I was definitely feeling better all the time on Strattera, I decided to stick it out and see if I could tolerate the side effects.

If another med works for you or if stims are OK with your doc (mine was concerned about my BP, but when I see him this week I'll relate the new info to him), then perhaps Strattera isn't best for you.

Gosh I can't tell if I'm helping or confusing things.
