Ideas how to split vyvanse dose?

Anyone have any ideas or experience with spacing out the time between taking 2 70mg vyvanse capsules a day to get ALL DAY coverage?

you can pour half into a glass of water...close up capsul and save the other half until later in the day

why do you want to split them?

I mean space the two pills out. Like one in the morning then one in the afternoon? I have 140mg to work with but taking them both at once doesn't last the whole day and evening, and I haven't found the right time to take the second one.

I don't know, but if you figure out something that works, let me know...my problem is that if I take one too late in the afternoon, I still become unfocused (or sometimes even end up in a dark funk) by evening, yet apparently there's still just enough of it in my system to give me insomnia.

Any luck so far? I think I've given up on trying to take any Vyvanse in the evening, been a dreadful week. Maybe I'll see if I can add some sort of booster later in the day, because I do really like what it does for me for the first 3-5 hours (before it sends me into a terrible mood).

Vyvanse lasts for 12 hours or so. It might not be totally effective for those hours, but it is still in your system at a decent level towards the end.

You might be on too high of a dose. If you take too much, it can have an opposite affect on your concentration/ADD symptoms etc. Maybe try lowering each pill to 60 or 50mg, and then try taking two a day?

That might work for you. Otherwise, the booster idea is good. An instant release pill should clear out of your system before you go to sleep.

I'm only on 50mg, so I doubt it's that it's two high. It might "last" 12 hours, but 90% of people's experiences written in this forum are that it *works* only 6 hours at most (if that).

When I take it, I'm able to focus really well for 3-5 hours, then I start to notice it getting harder to focus again, and an hour or two later even experience symptoms of a drop (tired and/or depressed). Clearly it stays in my system for 12-14 hours, because if I take it past 2pm I get insomnia. But after the tiredness/depression wears off (after several hours), I'm just back to my normal default state.

I was actually responding to the other poster.

But, Vyvanse is a strange medication. It lasts a long time, but effectiveness varies. Maybe you should go up to 60mg etc and see what happens. A lot of times, a dose increase ends up lengthening the duration of effectiveness. If this doesn't work, then you should talk to your doctor about getting an instant release booster to sort of build upon the Vyvanse already in your system. A small dose should "reactivate" the original Vyvanse.

If that doesn't work for you, then I guess you should try one of the other medications out there.
