Does Concerta make you sleepy at first

I just wondered why Concerta makes me sleepy after I first take it. Anyone else have this problem?

i have noticed this sometimes. i am still trying to find the best dose for me, or maybe even try another med. i have an appt coming up and want to talk to the doc about this.

I wonder if I am taking too much or not enough. I take 18mg and have a heck of a time getting started in the morning after I take it. After a while I am okay but at first I could crawl into a ball and sleep for an hour.

I had to give it a few days....the sleepiness went away. U might ask your dr if u can try concerta and reg ritalin. Finding the right meds is a very long process dont rush it. I did and its been hell.

I am the same it makes me sleepy most of the day

It was like that for me for the first couple of weeks. I got used to it though, you should too.

thanks for your replies. I will talk to doc too. I have been taking 18 mg Concerta in the morning for about 3 months and Ritalin 5 mg in the after noon. Maybe I should take the fast acting Ritalin in the am and the Concerta in the afternoon.
