Methylphenidate sr vs Concerta

Hello All,

I'm brand new to the forum and have just been diagnosed. I was prescribed 40mg of Methyl SR (and told to try 60mg for a few days) and while I have made a lot of progress I was wondering about other options.

I normally assume the generic is always as good as the brand name but was wondering if a better release via brand name might fix my problem.

At 40mg the Methyl does nothing for an hour or two, then is perfect for about two hours, and then seems to still be around but not really helpful.

At 60mg the Methyl is ok at the beginning and end but too much in the middle.

Of course I'll chat with my doc about this but my next appointment isn't for another five weeks - so I'm just looking for info to discuss with him.
