Exclamation Barkley's 9 Point ADHD Test

Check out Dr. Russell A. Barkley's new book "Taking Charge of Adult ADHD"

Click on Look inside and then click through to PAGE 10 (not ten clicks) where you will see a simple 9 point check list of ADHD symptoms.

He says that he believes this 9 point checklist will replace the current 18 point WHO checklist that separates Inattentive and Hyperactive types in the next iteration of the DSM.

Re: Barkley's 9 Point ADHD Test

Good symptom list, thanks for posting it.

Now we will have to wait to see how much the DSM-V picks up. Keep in mind that Barkley is not on the committee so I don't know how much influence he will have.

Fingers crossed,

Dizfriz

Re: Barkley's 9 Point ADHD Test

Interesting list.

I score 15 / 18 on the DSM-IV list (8 PI & 7 H/I) but only 5 / 9 on Barkeleys list.

He doesn't seem to say what the "cut off" number of symptoms should be....

Re: Barkley's 9 Point ADHD Test

ADHD (Attention deficit-hyperactivity disorder) is a problem with inattentiveness, over-activity, impulsivity, or a combination. The AmI adhd test provides accurate & professional test results as the first step. There have lots of user review which will make you confident. You may check it.

Re: Barkley's 9 Point ADHD Test

There are no online tests that conclusively prove ADHD, and even the professionally administered tests only indicate the level of likelihood of ADHD. I'd forgotten about this thread (and I miss meridian!!) but recently read the book, and the 9-point assessment seemed to make an excellent starting point for a diagnosis.
