I recently began seeing this psychiatrist to get my anti-depressants dialed in. At the first session, she basically asked "and what are you taking for your ADD?" I said "what ADD?" She started me on dexedrine and the rest is history . . . . I like her lots.

Re: Reference For Local Doctors
I see that the last post to this was over a year ago. With that in mind, Draga, you may want to update it. Many of the website links lead to websites that have nothing to do with the person and are just, more often than not, "under construction" pages.
I came here looking for resources in regards to meetings along the front range of Colorado for families with older children with ADD. Any idea where I can find any, especially north of Denver and south of Ft. Collins? Thanks for your help! FYI...........The best psychiatrist I have found in the front range area, who is VERY knowledgeable (has written 4 books with another about to be published) is Dr. David Rosenthal. His patients include people of all ages, from kids to adults. Here is his information: DavidRosenthalMD 880 Union Ave Boulder, CO office: 303-440-3457 fax: 303-440-8128 Last edited by meadd823; 02-01-09 at 06:56 AM.. Re: Adult ADD specialists in Denver, metro area?
I lived in Colorado until 2 years ago. I explored my ADHD a little while I was there.
The psychiatrist I saw there has limited her practice to adolescents, and isn't taking any new patients. BUT I do have a couple of ideas. Before I found her, I called the CU Medical Center (University of Colorado Health Sciences Center). There was a doctor on the staff there who was quite helpful with getting started. He even mailed me reading material. I just dug out that stuff to get his name, then Googled him. It looks now like he's in private practice. His name is Dr. William Dodson, MD. Scroll halfway down this link for his contact info.: http://www.addresources.org/conferen...presenters.php You could also call the Health Sciences Center and ask for the psychiatry department. See if they have any special programs, and if not, if they can suggest clinicians. Last, you could check out the ADHD organizations. I'm sure there is at least one CHADD chapter there. (And CHADD isn't just for kids, any more.) At the time I talked to Dr. Dodson, there was also something called Adult Attention Deficit Disorder Support Group that met twice a month on the DU campus. You could Google that and contact them. While these organizations probably can't directly recommend someone, chances are good they'll have a list. If not, go to a meeting and ask people who they see, either before or after the meeting.

Re:Moderator note Reference For Local Doctors
I have gone back to the beginning of this section and copied all post with doctor recommendations for the state of Colorado
Please note the members location in the user panel - or the title line If you know of a place for ADD treatment especially those who will treat adults with ADD please do share here in this thread - If you have a horrible experience with some one well that can be shared here too just please keep entries factual Be sure to mention what part of Colorado you are referring to as this thread is for the entire state. If you are here looking for a health care professional and none is listed - I have a collection of directories that may prove useful Where Can I Find a Health Care Professional?

Re: Reference For Local Doctors
Does anyone happen to know of a Colorado doctor who is willing to prescribe memantine? My psych is completely against any sort of treatment that's off-label, and doesn't really seem to acknowledge my endless studies etc that I bring him. Anyways, does anybody know an open-minded psychiatrist in Denver?
