Long showers...

Any other afficionados? I mean 30 minutes minimum. I love it. The noise makes it easy to think clearly and the hot water helps to properly wake up. If I don't have one in the morning... I feel out of whack for the rest of the day.

Re: Long showers...

In 2002-2004 I lived in a house with a gigantic water heater and an epic shower stall. No bathtub, but I could take hour-long showers without exhausting the hot water. Usually it was closer to 30 minutes.

I prefer to bathe now.

Re: Long showers...

If I'm in a hotel room I take long showers all night long! Hot scalding melt my tense muscles into soft butter showers. If I'm in a truckstop shower they kinda frown on taking really long showers since there are usually lots of other people waiting in line to clean up.

But if I get into a shower and the water is not scalding hot I will get dressed and ask to be put into another shower!

Re: Long showers...

I can't start my day without a shower. On the rare day that I can't, I feel like I'm at 50% in every way. I don't take showers that are particularly long, or particularly hot, but since my shower routine is the same every time, my brain is freed up for some pretty productive thinking while I'm getting clean.

Re: Long showers...

Yes, 30 minutes sounds about right. When younger it was usually 45 minutes. I need it to wake up and my mind drifts off the entire time - sometimes I don't know if I'm in the shower for 15 or 40 minutes - just kind of a surprise when I get out.

Re: Long showers...

Yeah, I was used to get called on to get out of it, then I would usually stay for just another 15 min . Also after half an hour I usually still have to rub douche gel and wash my hair.
Someone on here gave a tip though, too douche under 18-20 Celcius it helps a little I must say. I try to allways do it.

LOL I am the same. I am very conservative with everything else in the environment, but I love long, hot showers. Thank goodness water is included with my rent!

Re: Long showers...

Showering is one of my forms of meditation. Its true, the sensation and sound of the shower(preferably scalding hot) seems to drown out the background distractions. I often have great ideas while under the shower which I may or may not remember after I turn it off.

Re: Long showers...

I love long showers too: but they're not so great if you're trying to get ready and get to work on time.

Re: Long showers...

I have to be in the mood to take a long shower. If I was cold before I got in those are the times that I usually want to stay in for 30 min. Other than that I get bored and usually am out in 15.

Re: Long showers...

Mmm love long showers. To save water I shower every other day. I used to have closer to 30 minute showers then those damn water restrictions came in so it's between 15-20 minutes now.
