How to use Magnesium and L-Tyrosine to increase Adderall Effectiveness
It's been about a week since I've started Adderall and I went up to 25 mg because 20 mg wasn't as effective as the first time. I actually used 10 mg the first day then 20 the next. I tried vyvanse for 3 days because it was free. The side effects were actually worse and it wasn't as effective as Adderall. My insurance probably wouldn't cover it anyway so I just stopped using it.
I waited one day then took 15 mg of Adderall, 20 the next day. That was the 20 that seemed to lack effectiveness. I waited another day and took 25 mg. It seemed to work well enough. I heard about how these supplements can help Adderall work better and slow tolerance. I'd like to see how these work before trying Memantine. I'm just concerned about how I actually use them. Do I take them everyday? When do I take them on days I take Adderall? I just want to know the proper way to utilize these supplements. |

Bro you've got it all wrong just like that other girl in the other thread.
What Adderall does is help you concentrate and qwell your hyperactivity. What seems like some beginner Adderall users fall into the death trap of linking the contempt happy contempt "top of the world" 'high' you get from Adderall as the medicine's sign of it working. Infact that is all wrong. The medicine after the first week or first few times, that feeling goes away. If you chase it, which you clearly are, then you are in for a world of hurt. Stick to your doctor prescribed about. A beginner to adderall should in no way take more than 30MG daily Fix your problem or you are going to live through hell. ----------------------------------------------------------------- As far as Magnesium and L-Tyrosene goes, DO NOT***** take them together with Adderall. They do somewhat (like small amount) help stop tolerance but if you take Adderall and the two together then its like overdosing adderall as the effect is massively increased, you'll get sick, your body will go nuts, and your mind will stop reacting to lower doses and it completely ruins the whole point. If you want, you can take L-Tyrosine 500mg-1G + 400MG of Magnesium on your break days (AND NOT morning or afternoon breaks, all day breaks) or at night right when you are about to sleep and your adderall has worn out for hours already... And as far as tolerance goes, it will take years (2+) for any to build up at all. First days, weeks, or months is hilarious...And also, taking breaks, even once a week will help out big-time! |

abk1337, I realized that I have been doing exactly what you warned against. Dosage, supplements, all of it. I was up to 50 mg/day just to feel any effect at all, and it wasn't much.
Is this reversible? I was planning on taking a break for a week or two and supplementing with l-tyrosine and magnesium. Do you think that would be sufficient? Please give me some good news. Thanks in advance. |

that's a loaded question! you should probably chill on the supplements when on stims and take a break if possible and exercise, eat nutrient dense healthy food, and drink tons of water, if something positive doesnt come of this (mentally) then you need to reassess something and start over

imhknowledge Magnesium will lhelp provide an alkaline environment good for speed. And In my experience, it used to help my mood in subtle ways. Tyrosine i just started and i take roughly 3g throughout the day and it has given my 140mg of vyvanse a day plus wellbutrin a new lease on happiness instead of just energy. I imagine We become depleted of everything that makes these harder drugs work so well after some time. But fear not, supplements and healthy happy living/thinking will win everytime

idk how you guys need your meds plus multiple grams of l-tyrosine daly my normal adderal dose with 500mg of l-tyrosine made me feel like a machine and gave me really bad insomnia. I woke up still full of energy. I think l-tyrosine will be a good add on for me but i need like 250mg. Anyone know where you can buy l-tyrosine in tiny doses?

Just curious, but have their been a lot of studies about L- tyrosine? I never heard of it until I came here. Is it or can it be dangerous?

L-tyrosine does not work. You are basically peeing your money away.
does not cross the blood brain barrier and reach the brain so it can use it to make new neurotransmitters. Also, assuming L-tyrosine is very motile that it can cross the blood brain barrier (like herion or morphine). Brain cells will not use L-tyrosine just because its there (from an external source) from these supplements and baaam! you have more dopamine to go around and for adderall to get more effective. dont waste your money on this stuff. Many years from now I think the world will come to concluson that most suppelements do not do anything and even if they do we are not wired to use from supplements (mostly) we are wired to extract it from food and the body decieded on what goes where and how fast. Can you live off protein shakes ? maybe you can but it is not healthy to ignore food where we have readily available heat engines (stomachs) and acid to burn them and use it as a fuel. We can argue about this all day. You are peeing your money away. Instead: Search for deplin (it is a super dose of folic acid in its organic form which is methyl-folic acid (or somthing like that). the methyl group in the folic acid makes makes it so easy for the folic acid to be absorbed. Plus deplin is a prescription "medical food" so atleast we know its there (FDA approved). and many research papers proved its efficacy but minimum efficacy for normal people and max with people with high deficiency in folic acid). |

I take 350 mg n-acetyl-l-tyrosine after my Dex ER wears off and it's not affecting me in any way. Makes me feel more awake but not jittery or anything. I also take 400 mg Mg Citrate every night, it doesn't help with tolerance at all but helps with sleep.

you are right. the supplement industry will not die.
supplemenets companies hire people, pay tax. and it is the duty of the FDA to not examine, approve, or reject their claims. it makes too much money with no oversight required. Golden egg. I still think that the supplement industry is a fake. They can claim what ever they think is right. They can put anything in their stuff (as long it does not cause noticable harm) it is okay for them to make and sell it. Its like driving in the high way where it is know that no cops or speed traps are there. Yet, it is like an honor system, you promise that you will not speed. And if you do, you are your own cop. Where whenever you speed you write your self a ticket and send the DMV payment for speeding. if the DMV uses this honor policy in the roads and it works then the suppelement industry is the way to go and you should trust their claims. they |

if i take magnesium i feel no effect whatsoever from tyrosine but if i don't take magnesium i clearly get a motivational uplift from tyrosine. So my next question is how many of you are taking magnesium around the time you take l-tyrosine?
