Question what's the difference between stimulant & nonstimulant?

Hi, can any one tell me what's the difference between a stimulant add medication
and a nonstimulant medication?

The stimulants are the ones that are scheduled narcotics. The non-stimulants are stimulating also but with less potential for abuse.

Here's a real simplified psych med neurotransmitter summary:
seratonin = antidepressant (calm emotion numbing)
noradrenaline = adrenaline (nervous fight/flight)
dopamine = stimulating (pleasure/reward)

The stimulants work mostly on dopamine with some noradrenaline like cocaine. Pure dopamine meds are rare. The non-stimulant meds are generally noradrenaline players like strattera (pure dopamine) and wellbutrin (with a tad of dopamine) and effexor (mostly antidepressant with some of the others).

Of course it's much more complicated than that as evidenced the fact that strattera makes folks sleepy and it's most simply described as 'pure adrenaline'.
