Question Headaches while reading?

I eas just wondering if anyone else gets headaches after reading for only about 8-10 minutes (if its slightly interesting) and 3-5 (if its the most boring thing in the world).

i always get these throbbing headaches and have to stop. its usually not that bad of a headache, unless im tired, sick, anxious, stressed, in a rush, or sometimes, like today when i was just trying to do my vocab, i got the worst headache ever and had to stop cause i couldnt even think straight and then my stomache started to hurt a bit. but usuall, i only feel a tiny, annoying throb that will not let me concentrate.

Does anyone else get this? might it be related to ADHD or something else, or am I just a freak of nature?

Re: Headaches while reading?

no, it's not ADHD.

it is most likely from trigger point (a REALLY tight knot of muscles) in your neck and around your eyes that prevent you from enjoying the book.

you'll be surprised how tight your neck muscle is. massage your eyes, the side of your head, and your whole neck. from top to bottom.

most of pain from the body is from overused muscles that you are unaware of.

Re: Headaches while reading?

What Jin said or get some reading glasses and dim the lights.

My problem is a light sensitivity and sore eye muscles so I have to constantly wear reading glasses.

Re: Headaches while reading?

Have you been to an optometrist? At least go to a doctor about it. The other day the bottom of my right eye was twitching. I at least thought maybe I should see the doctor about it but it has since stopped.

Maybe you have Irlen's syndrome and need a specific tint to see through. The headaches sound like it at least. You can google it and do some self tests.

Where abouts are the headaches? They could be migraines or another type of headache. I always get migraines. I used to get such bad eye aches that I had to close my eyes for a bit while watching TV or wearing shades.

hehe, actually i took those a few months ago (trust me, this has become a problem ) but i actually scored pretty low. maybe its some sort of light sensitivity, but even reading with the lights dimmed hurts my eyes and i love the sunlight..... hmmmm

mostly (like the really small one i have now) are like on my right part of my forehead like a half inch below my harline. that place kills me sometimes, bu right now its oly small since i havent been on here now.

I know abot the shades part though...i cant wear them cause after a bit i just want to rip them off cause i get such a headache after about 10 mins or so, but ive found the same with glasses. goggle shades dont bother me and im pretty sure it just has something to do with itt pinching the top of my nose, cause i just cant stand it, but with shades its worse maybe cause they dont have the pad thngies?

well, i really dunno. i was just wondering cause its really been bothering me lately, but maybe ill look in2 this more when i have time.

@everyone: Thanks for the posts peeps!
