Rite Aid/CVS Generics

Does anyone know the full list of generics (of Ritalin) that Rite Aid carries? Or CVS even?

I take the Mallincrokdt brand (I seriously can't spell that...) but was wondering if either of those two places carried something different. I currently fill my scripts at Rite Aid.

Also, is it ok for me to drop of the script and pick up the meds if I'm only 17? Or does my mom have to do it for me?

Re: Rite Aid/CVS Generics

I'm not sure about the 17 year old part but a quick call to the pharmacy would solve that. As far as different brands, there are two I think. The actual Methylphenidate (spelling) is really generic Ritalin from the same company and Methylin is actually a third party. Some people claim it works worse and makes them feel funny and others (like myself) say it works better than the other generic. It's a crapshoot really. Just try both and see.

Re: Rite Aid/CVS Generics

Here is a partial list of generics for the extended release tablets.
Methylin ER, Mallinckrodt
20 mg tablets, 100 count (NDC 00406-1451-01)
Methylphenidate Sustained-Release, Sandoz
20 mg tablets, 100 count (NDC 00781-5754-01)
Metadate ER, UCB
20 mg tablets, 100 count (NDC 53014-0594-07)

This may help but usually most phrams only carry Methylin for generic Ritalin.

Good luck. You should be fine picking up your own prescription even if your only 17 but I could be wrong.

Re: Rite Aid/CVS Generics

CVS has Sandoz generic methylphenidate, but always ask to make sure.

Rite Aid will most likely have Mallinckrodt generic.

Walgreens has Watson generic, but also I highly recommend that you ask them to make sure.

I take Watson and it's been smooth in effect with little to no rebound.

Re: Rite Aid/CVS Generics

I actually haven't tried the Watson brand yet but Methylin actually works better and has less crash.
