Iím confused as to whether sugar is bad for those with ADHD.

Whilst itís widely advised to avoid sugar altogether, Dr Russell Barkley stated that those with the disorder may benefit from periodically sipping energy drinks to improve executive functions by getting more glucose in the brain.

Incidentally, I pretty much gave up sugar for years (before I was diagnosed) but I noticed that my attention was actually worse, my impulse control slightly improved but my mood... [Read More]

construel level, distell distances and achievement level hierarchy
Jan 24, 2019 - 2:34 AM - by Drogheda98
so recently on my NCBI tour of cognition, I was looking for answer that I didn't know that I was looking for, however I found it. and it's a whopper.

Distell distances, the psychological distances between objects (these, those). in therapy lately we have been talking about space/time and the flow through it. so I reflected on the distances between objects. an arrow on say, a street sign might point up to indicate north, but north is along the horizontal plane (mental... Hi Everyone... It's been a LONG time
Jan 22, 2019 - 1:00 PM - by KarmanMonkey
Hi everyone,

Sorry I've been out of touch; there are a variety of contributing factors, but here are some of the highlights:

1) Wife had a missed miscarriage

2) Wife and I subsequently had a successful pregnancy (now have a 4yo boy and a 4mo girl at home)

3) Time management has been an increasing issue, particularly since the other person in my role at work has been on medical leave for several months (and thus my workload has... [Read More]

I took about a month long vacation from anything psychology to let things peculate. now on the heels of this new semester and new chapter of my life, well, where else to discuss this kind of personal stuff. if anyone can get anything out of this, please do, if anyone can add, please do.

ever tell yourself "get in the X"

look inward. that is something my therapist said to me for a while along with the process "what do you want, what are you doing, how is it working... [Read More]

Thinking outside the box:is it common in adhd?
Jan 11, 2019 - 1:59 AM - by PI-ADHD 29
I think outside the box usually in all my life. I mean i think in different ways in many situations, conversations. Sometimes i think too deeply, complex and i suppose other people can understand what i think. But many times people think or comment things just simply. And sometimes vice versa. So, too many times i'm misunderstood. I've lost many of my friends because of that. Or sometimes i'm seem as a fool, stupid man. I'm goodwill but i seem ill will by others many times. Sometimes i can make... [Read More]
