Alarmist Headlines about women and adhd meds.
Jan 20, 2018 - 8:55 AM - by sarahsweets
From a legit(?) news source. It happens to center more on pregnancy and adhd meds more but also throws in increases in certain age groups with no real explanation for why the stats are even included. Ironically I dont think the stats about pregnant women taking adhd meds were even mentioned. I hate the media nearly 95% of the time when it comes to adhd articles, adhd meds articles and especially women's adhd articles. When I read a good one I cant wait to share it everywhere.

Newbie needing all the advise you can give
Jan 19, 2018 - 1:02 AM - by loulouinoz
I find it difficult to describe my feelings when I stumbled across this forum. I am just a mum with concerns for her adult son 22. He has not been diagnosed with anything and he is too old for me to make him see anyone so I have found this community and hope that you can offer some advice guidance direction.

He struggles with life is the best way I can put it and he has even said to me it’s too hard being and adult. Looking back it was probably in year 10 when I can... [Read More]

Dual diagnosis
Jan 18, 2018 - 6:05 PM - by TheWomble
Hi folks,

I'm a new member and this is my first post.

So, I was just diagnosed (at age 43) with ADD, Asperger's and a "very superior IQ (that's the Weschler test term, not mine)." I am so relieved that I am on the verge of tears since my diagnosis: Tears of relief, happiness and hope.

I have struggled with feeling like an alien all my life and never knew why. My work life has been car crash after car crash (not to mention actual car crashes after... [Read More]

Identifying: am I ADD/ADHD?
Jan 18, 2018 - 4:43 PM - by FranklinWathert
I am an older guy that is at a huge medical crossroads and one of the issues is IDing whether or not I am dealing with ADD/ADHD or it is other medical issues that are making my life a huge challenge.

I am no longer able to read a book because I cannot focus.

I cant read long directions, in fact much more than a sentence and I give up and move on.

I refuse to read anything that isn't broken into short paragraphs because I get lost.

Do I sound... [Read More]

Thinking simple 'disipline' is of prime importance
Jan 18, 2018 - 4:08 PM - by diagoro
I'm going through a major period of reflection. Have been one and off Adderall the past 18 years (and tried a few other medications early on). I've also been treated by numerous doctors in various health plans as I moved from job to job.

I can't help but think my main problem, aside from the biological issues I was born with, was the lack of discipline and study habits reinforced into me as a kid. I grew up in a single parent household, and my mother had many of her own issues... [Read More]
